Mission

The Groups STEM Student Organization intends to uplift, peer mentor, and aid in the progression of dedicated first-generation college students and underserved populations, who aspire to become research scientists and professionals in the allied STEM fields by providing professional development, increasing academic success through graduation and promoting overall support for the STEM campus climate.

Goals

  • To create a conducive, high-achieving academic environment that helps students be successful in a STEM major
  • To bridge the gap between students and STEM resources on the IUB campus (i.e., professors, peers, or academic support services etc.)
  • To develop and participate in STEM programs, activities, and events that cultivate and
  • To develop peer mentoring relationships to help students excel in a STEM major.
  • To provide information and help students advance in research, internships, and job shadowing opportunities
