Academic Advising

Our academic advisors are here to help! They will work with you as you explore your academic interests and choose a major; develop plans to reach your academic, personal, and career goals; connect you to campus resources and opportunities; help you overcome obstacles on the path to your established goals; and more. Advisors are available in Maxwell Hall 200. Current students may schedule an appointment with their Groups Academic Advisor

For more information on courses and degree requirements, see the University Division

Tutoring

Tutoring is available in the Groups Scholars Program Office in Maxwell Hall 200, Monday through Friday. Tutoring also is available in the Academic Support Centers and in Writing Tutorial Services (WTS).

Ambassadors Program

The Ambassadors Program is a program in which outstanding junior and senior Groups Scholars are invited to serve. It is a chance for older students to give back to the Groups Scholars Program by assisting staff with programs, presentations and serve as guides to incoming Groups Scholars. The Ambassadors Program is open to all Groups Scholars who have completed the requisite hours to be granted sophomore status.

Peer Advisors

Peer Advisors work with incoming freshmen to assist with course selection for the fall semester, conduct group meetings, and provide education about the registration process. Peer Advisors also have the chance to interact with Groups Scholars advisors professionally as part of the Groups Scholars Program team.

Peer Tutors

Peer tutors are Groups students who have earned a B+ or higher in a specific course and volunteer for the Groups Scholars Program to tutor fellow students. Tutors are typically needed in math, biology, chemistry, computer science, psychology, economics, business (A100 and K201), French, Spanish, statistics, and anatomy.

XAE

Chi Alpha Epsilon is a National Honor Society that recognizes the academic achievements of students admitted to colleges and universities through nontraditional criteria. The IU chapter, Alpha Delta, recognizes Groups Scholars who display outstanding academic achievement and strong leadership skills to serve as role models.
